Reply to Music & Mission

Well I can relate, I'm a music major as well specifically Music Management. In my case, I see my college degree as more of a back up plan. It takes time, you have to realize your musical purpose and what you're purpose in life. Music is suppose to be change the world and make a difference the true purpose, what people were originally creating music for. For fellowship, to influence, to help people realize aspects of life, to bring joy, etc. My musical purpose is to simply change the world. There's a lot of hate in the world and I'm gonna use my music to spread the message of peace, love, and happiness. Kinda cliche but thats what I want to do. Someday hopefully in the near future maybe either before I graduate from college or after or at least before I turn 25 I want to become an R&B Singer, during my career I want to do production work as well as well as some business ventures. I obviously want a successful career as an artists. I want to achieve at least 7 or more Grammy Awards during my career. By the age of 30 I want to start my own Independent Record Company, then by 35 hopefully grow that Indie into a Major Record company as well as a distributor. Also by 35, I will also venture into maybe film and television. By 40, my major record company will be one of the top companies in the world. Either joining the current members of the Big Four or replacing one or two of the members. Thats my ultimate goal, thats what I want. First I think you need to create an Ultimate Goal. Then you can figure out different career options that can take to that Ultimate Goal. I want to own a record company someday, plan A for me is to first break into the business as an artists, Plan B is to graduate and go to law school and become a lawyer, Plan C is to graduate and become a manager, Plan D, Plan E, etc. Figure out your number 1 career choice first, by your ultimate goal. Which career is the most effective to getting you where you want to get to in life. I'm working on Plan A through C right now. i'm in college, I'm writing songs, I'm working, etc. Figuring out what you want to do is hard. Is your ultimate goal to help people in churches, create and form your own ministry, become a pastor of your own church, get a grammy, get a christian Grammy, whats your "Ultimate Goal". Your Ultimate Goal may change as you're working on that goal. But thats life and you have live it out to the fullest. Life is like maze, you'll make a wrong turn every now and then, but only you can find what you're looking for in the maze, only you can find the string that can lead you to what you're looking for. You're working with church, you can choose to follow that path, or become a singer and follow a different path. Its your choice. I hope that helped. I can't tell which of those three would be best. If you want to take a chance and risk go with the singing career, if you want to take a safe route go with 1 and 2. I'm taking the risky one. I just hope God will help me along the way.
